First off about the VWs ... they are some of the highest quality cars around. You diss VWs , you diss bmw, audi... even Lamborghini.

In a higher grade japanese car you will find much better materials too. Look at the doge viper anyway 80k car and has the same crappy materials as if you found in a high trim neon.

Figures well sadly japanese cars got those locked... weight, HP to Weight ratio, as well as handling, and looks.

Of course i will not decline the fact that your vipers are nice looking , your ferraris, but when it all comes down. For a 250k car (ferrari 360 modena for instance) buy a supra (low miles , 2jz-gte engine or even could get a 2002 imported from japan when spending that much money) and with that amount of money you could make a 900 HP+ beast , and make it sound good (system) as well as body. Blow away all cars out there, and still have money left over for gas.

    Check out these sites:

Supra Performance Parts, Lexus V8 Performance Parts - SupraStore.com

Supra Forums is the largest online Toyota Supra MKI, MKII, MKIII, MKIV and MKV owner's club community. Discuss DIY, modifications, and upgrades.

Do some research, find out what some of the lowest to highest BPU supras run.

Enjoy crapping your pants (now you know why I got myself a supra )

before i start, didn't we have a few wars on this a few months ago? oh well lol.

arkfear- your point about ferraris and other 150+ thousand dollar cars going just as fast as a much cheaper, heavily modified car is kinda one sided. many of the people that buy very expensive fast cars do it as a status symbol. if i was a millionaire, and wanted a car, i would go for a ferrari, porsche, lambo, ect ect. i wouldn't go get a 15 thousand dollar car and put tens of thousands of dollars into it to make it just as fast. many people do it just to say, "hey, i have a xxx,xxx dollar car, and you don't" other people buy it just for the sound of the v8, or v12.

personally, i do not care if i drive an import or domestic car. speed is speed, no matter what. handling is also important , but you can have that in both domestic and imports. many will disagree saying that a souped up old nova, camaro, or whatever cannot handle worth crap. thats true, but many people don't build those up to race around corners. they do it to drag.

i've driven land rovers (fun off road), mercedes (c-320, sporty, fun to drive), fords (my explorer 4 door was cool), and now i drive a new mazda 6s, with a 3.0 v6 in it. <-- i love this car sooo much. handles great, good speed too.

i loved all the cars i've owned or driven, and each has their own special qualitites. not everyone buys their cars to race the same way. some people buy as a status symbol, people buy cars to race drag, to race autocross type courses (street), and some people go off-roading.

Nah, if I had the cash I'd get me a 7mgte upgrade... But being a poor college student and all... stupid bills...

And no one was really dissing the cars you listed, just the rice-burners (this term is WAY overused in my opinion).

And yes, you can have a car that goes faster for alot cheaper then a Lambo or a Ferrari or a Porsche... but you aren't buying just the speed with either of those. Having one of those cars is a class statement, saying I can afford to spend a quarter million on a car that does nothing other then go fast. There may be faster out there, but for every 900 beast of a supra, there will always be a 1000 horse cadillac 16 waiting to chomp it down and a 1200 hp Grand National to destroy that!

If given the choice, I would take a brand new Porsche, Ferrari, or Lambo in front of BPU+++++++++ Supra/300zx/RX-7/3000gt... Of course, if I'm ever given that choice I'll probably just wet myself there and cry myself to sleep... Well actually I'd probably take the European supercar, then sell it and buy a Grand National... its my dream car
Hey Zero, how much did that Chipley cost ya?

It comes down to what you like. It's all about the size of your wallet.

Hell a Civic SI beat my stock vert T/A... but he needed 20psi of boost and a built motor to beat me by 3 tenths.

Edit: At 16psi I walked him like a small dog on a short leash.

Another quick point. I'm inherently more comfortable driving at high speeds in a car that was originally built to be stable at high speeds. What I mean is, if I'm going to drive over 150mph, I'll jump in a porsche 911 turbo over a souped up anything every time. When you start hitting really high speeds aerodynamics can get funky.
It's HERE! Play at Shooter's Casino!!!!!! It'll be fun........

Its pretty simple I will agree that with enough time money and effort you can do anything to any car. However, if you want the best STOCK car it would be a domestic. Speed wise atleast. Go pick up a mustang, cammerro, (sp) vette, etc. Then go pick up a civic, integra, etc. Now put them on the line and by far the domestics will win. The imports are not fast cars, yes with a 200 shot of nos anything can go fast, but not off the showroom floor. However a domestic can. Sure they may not handle as well or be as effiecnt as the little imports but speed wise they are faster.

well, lets take into consideration the other imports, such as porsche, audi, bmw, mercedes. even though they merged with chrystler, they are still considered imports. i've driven around in my friends audi S4, and that thing flies....

For the rest of you argh this is like arguing with someone over which pball gun is better. In the end your both pballers what does it matter that u shoot a Xmag and he shoots an angel IR3. God I am so sick of these threads.
