The Jewish had their own terrorist groups that were attacking Palestinians from the beginning and so did the Palestinians. What would you do if someone said that your land is being taken over by foreigners. And we complain about Mexicans.

No FOL, this is not a topic of mine, so many things are intertwined that you have to mention everything in a debate, so in a world like we have today it is only certain that these things get brought up.

Unpopular ideas can be presented in such a way not to inflame. But that is what you are doing CB... your goal is to piss people off and not add anything to the discussion.

Now... I can either: A. Close these types of threads everytime - but I don't want to because we have a lot of mature, intelligent people here who behave themselves... and it's one or two people who ruin it. B. I can remove those one or two people.

I'm not asking you to hold back your ideas, I'm asking you to curb your wording and attitude such that it is not inflammatory... and not run around in circles repeating things over and over to no end. If you cannot do this, I will have to pick from choice A or choice B.

But the US is not attacking Mexico either, the US is not killing Mexicans families for doing nothing more then just living in an apartment building. The US is not holding on to legal Mexican land.

Miscue, I am glad you are willing to do something. My statements are not inflammatory if people will read them for what they say, and if they have a question about it, ask, I will clarify anything that they do not understand. But people will run with something they do not understand, and refuse to listen to me when I try and explain it to them. That is when you have me being called a racist, anti-American, anti-soldier, etc...

I could try and make it clearly known from the beginning, but knowing people here like I think I do, they will still read in it whatever they want to, and try and turn the debate around to something that it is not, and get me to defend my self personally, not my ideas. I am sorry but I do think your name has to be included in the people that I am describing. Not an attack on you, just asking.

I think that you can either close down these threads, or get all sides to stop calling people names, show some restraint, and discuss. That is the only way IMO to get all sides to behave like you want. It is not a couple of people, it is the whole.

If my statements are inflammatory then what is the point of debating two view points, why don't we all agree on one thing and debate it. I mean things will be all nice then.

I am no worse then most people in these discussions. The only thing that makes me different is I view things differently, and view things different then you.

If people who enter these debates would throw all personal emotional opinions out the window while debating these things will not happen. I am offended by someone saying that the Palestinians are terrorist, no, it is wrong, but I am not offended. So why are people offended from me saying that the Israelis are contributing to the attacks against them? That at least is a true statement.

See what I mean, emotions play no role in debates. To have a successful debate where you can understand both sides, you have to throw emotions out the window. You might be offended by what I say, I might be offended by what you say, but that doesn't make the statement inappropriate or wrong.

Maybe not, but maybe it does indicate the intentions of the founders. The names have a lot to do with the sort of people you recruit.

There were Jewish terrorist groups, like the Stern Gang. One of their leaders even became PM of Israel, eventually. They did NOT attack the Palestinians "from the beginning", but only in the late 1930's, fifteen years after Arab attacks on Jews started.

MY land has been taken over by foreigners. White Europeans. We accepted them as refugees, then later signed treaties to charge them rent. We're getting shortchanged.

That is a true statement. Unfortunately, even when you are correct, you tend to make bold statements which offend people. Some things can only be said delicately. Miscue is right.

Treat these debates like you would if you were writing a paper, and trying to convince your Prof. I have heard that writing standards are in decline in today's universities. Please prove me wrong, as I am worried for my nieces and nephew. :)
