What if there is a link now, after the invasion, that didn't exist at the time of 9-11? If we had concrete proof of a link before war, our government would have released it and there would have been much less debating about going to war in the first place.

It's OK and sometimes necessary to be skeptical of our leaders. If you think we are invulnerable to someone taking advantage of our patriotism and sometimes blind faith to further their own corrupt agenda, you're ignoring history.

I'm not saying that this is currently the case, but the government cannot tell you everything. Let's say that they have a lot of this evidence, if they told you about it... it could compromise the situation by informing the bad guys of what we know. For instance they could realize how we are getting information, and then prevent us from gaining more intel or doing certain things.

But like I said, this is speculation. It is possible that certain information that we would like to know, could make things more difficult. So, I don't always assume that because the military/govt knows something... that we will know. Or because something has not been reported, that it hasn't happened. We know things when they are ready to let us know.

I understand what you are saying, however your analogy is flawed. The US is an open society where we tolerate Bigots, Morons, Nazis, Racists, KKK, etc.... Hell our courts even guarantee their rights!

Iraq was a totalitarian state where Saddam and his security forces controlled everything in that country. The Shiites could not even pilgramage for prayer under Saddam. He must have known about the Al Queda connection. As for his connection to terrorists, Saddam paid out over $35,000,000 to the families of suicide murderers from Al Asqua Martyrs Brigade, Hamas, and Islamic Jihad. That in anyone's book has to be material support of terrorists!
