Its a question of priorities. In a perfect world, we would have compelte control of our borders. We do not. Therefor does it make sense to use limited resources detaining Mexicans, whos biggest crime seems to be smuggling drugs and doing work no one else wants to do, or Arabs who seem to have a predisposition for things that explode.

This thread does a great job of showing, once again, a complete lack of ideas from the left. They can't explain a single thing they beleive, because none of the thoughts are theirs.

I never said that arabs shouldn't live here. I also have said ALL ILLEGALS SHOULD BE DEPORTED!!!!!

Further more Bush did not try to give illegal aliens Driver's licenses, that was Grey Davis (D) former Govenor of California. That executive order was revoked by the new gov.

It is a crime to enter this country illegally. I don't care if you are Arab, European, Hispanic, or anything else. You should be arrested and shipped out of here on the first available flight!!! That is my position, so please don't speak for me. I am able to do that for myself just fine!

It does. Round all of them up and throw them out. You know what is worse? Releasing illegal aliens on bail until their deportation hearings. Think they are going to show up?

Arrest them. Lock them up and then finally ship them out!

Unfortunate to be sure.

But, there was suspicious cause for the initial arrest (although not much beyong the coincidence) and frankly, since it was the DAY AFTER 9/11 I'm willing to say that the country was on edge and that the authorities over-reacted to a very minor violation.

It happens. I can't say I'm suprised that 24 hours after Muslim Funsamentalist Terrorists murdered 3,000 people that the authorities jumped the gun a little.

They should have, but it's probably fair to forgive their excess.

Oh, I'm sorry. What law was passed between 9/11 and 9/12 that compromised that man's rights? That man was picked up on 9/12, the patriot act wasn't even a thought at that point.

Well, like I said, the towers had fallen just 24 hours earlier and the law enforcement agencies went beserk trying to figure out what happened and what, if anything, was next.

That's why over the past few years procedures and the department of homeland security have been formed, to prevent that kind of chaos from happening.

And the things that they were subjected to while in prison are horrible, no lawyers, no phone calls, solitary confinement (although it may have been needed to protect them) Just because the were Muslim is horrible.

It's not good, but think of the context it was in. Muslims just killed 3,000 of us and the authorities panicked.

They shouldn't have, but it wasn't a reaction completely without basis.

it's great that you don't, but most (hardcore especially) conservatives do, sadly.

i'm all for the right to bear arms, just not to the point some people want to take it. so we're in agreement on this one
