I know not very many people have had a chance to use the mini, and so instead of making a new thread asking the question I'm going to put it here.

The past few months (since about June) I've been looking at getting a second hand dm4 for next season. And now this new gun has caught my eye!.. at being currently about 100$ cheaper (canadien) then a used dm4 I'm really thinking about getting a mini instead.

And so with my question: If you were to buy a new marker, would it be a used dm4 or a new invert mini? I would like all of your opinions on the topic. Manike included even though your opinion might be biased Knowing you worked on this gun is a pretty big selling point for me because I know some of the work you have done in the past.

    Thanks everyone..
Cheers for this gun being as good as I hope it is

      Right there with you Sk8er.

temps, I'd go with the Mini. It's new, it's lighter, it's more reliable/easier to maintain.

Honestly I'm hoping for a dust black one.. if not I'll settle for glossy..

then again I'm switching from a 98 to this thing

I just hope it'll hold up in the rain.. still can't wait for it to come out.. first one that hits the local pro shop is already mine.

Little early to be discussing the reliability of the Invert isn't it? Aside from LX (god, I hate LX) how is anything easier than a Mag to maintain? I mean, a few drops of oil and ones good to go.

I know mags have weaknesses, but lets give credit where credit is due.

I believe he was comparing the invert mini to the DM4.

I agree that it is too early to say if the Invert Mini is reliable or not..

But his post was referring to my post, asking the differences between the Invert Mini and a DM4.. not a mag..

And for those who say just get a mag, I already own a mag and I'm looking for a new gun for my main then my mag will go as my backup.

Simon helped design the Mini to do just that. You drop some oil in the ASA and air it up. It's all explained in the PBN thread and several videos on the net. I also meant that the gun is very simply and easy to take care of... like a mag. No messy wires all over the place, and a nice, neat package that slides right out the back with the removal of one screw. Pretty reliable sounding if you ask me.

Also, the Mini has been field tested and played with for well near a year now. They've been proven to hold up in all weather and climate conditions. They've stood up to the abuse of tourny play and only needed lubing sparingly. It's not "too early" at all.

I'm getting one AFTER Christmas. That way I'll have the cash for a new stubby/45cu tank to go with it.

when do guys think you will get the Mini if you could?

I might get after Jan, just so I can get a whole new set up with it.

I've shot reballs through the Mini.

I like it. I'm buying one, even though my current gun shoots like nothing I've ever seen.

If you're wondering how it shoots... let me try to describe it best I can :)

It's extremely small and light. Probably the lightest gun I've ever held, and I've held the Rail and the 07 Ego and the DM7.

Despite its lack of weight, it kicks very little. More than a matrix, but less than a poppet valve gun like an Ego.

It is not too loud. Again, louder than a matrix, but more quiet than a poppet valve gun like an Ego.

Really, in the grand scope of how electros shoot, the Matrix being on one side (quiet, no kick) and the Ego being on the other (loud, kicks a bit, but has other advantages), the Mini falls smack in the middle. In other words, it's just like any other tourney level gun, with its own feel.

I was worried about the foregrip, and some people may not like it - it's flat and rectangular and doesn't leave much any space between itself and the trigger guard - but I tend to gorilla grip regs when I hold them, and it didn't really bother me much.

I was impressed, and will be buying one.

And if I don't like it? Well, I'm sure I can turn it around for about the price I paid.
