Well I also have a lot of fan base in other areas. Sadl enough I troll to many forums and plug my blog whenever and wherever I can. And I could produce a lot better works but I write these early in the morning and don't even give them a once over proof reading wise. Thanks for the suggestions though.

I've had a few people come into the Christmas tree lot and ask if the trees were alive. I've also had them ask if they could plant them after Christmas.

this has always bugged me Altimas, sure the stories are funny and all, but don't you realize it's illegal to post this information? i work in a grocery store with a pharmacy, but even though i don't sell the perscriptions, or deal with them unless it's left at a register, myself and everybody in the store had to read and sign a form saying that we cannot give out personal information, wether it's a name, perscription, or medical condition or even talk about it. now it's not just my work that did this, when i was in a ambulance for a medical emergency i was handed the exact same form that i had to read and sign, saying that they cannot release any personal information. now i'm almost positive you have had to do the same thing. so please, even though it's funny, stop posting the blog.

What personal info did he post? He probably changed the names... I am sure he did sign a confidentiality contract, but as long as no real information is given relating to the person he may be ok depending on the terms. These are all different for different companies. I have signed several at work too (I supervised a lot of employees and worked in Loss Prevention for a short while). My contract stated that nothing was to be diclosed or discussed. He may be okay because these are general situations with very little specific information, but again, it depends on the wording of his contract. Unless you have read and signed his companies contract (I assume you have not read/seen/signed his), maybe you should ask about the terms instead of being quite so accusatory It may not be illegal; again, it depends. Ethics is whole another question...

I understand what you are saying, actually I understand it a lot more than you do. What you are speaking of is called the HIPPA Privacy act. This keeps people from being able to access or distribute people's PHI or Protected Health information. Before I even started this blog I made sure that I wasn't breaking the law. Because while I joke and have fun on the blog, I take my job very seriously and wouldn't want any harmful or personal information about my customers to get out.
So Since HIPAA is protecting mebers PHI...let's get a better standing of what PHI is.

Protected Health Information (or PHI) is health information that can potentially be identified to an individual.

PHI is health information if it contains information about:
A medical condition or diagnosis, or
                Treatment or procedure, or
                Payment or eligibility.

PHI is considered identifiable to an individual if it contains any one or more of the following identifiers:
                Names.
All geographic subdivisions smaller than a state, including: street address, city, county, precinct, and zip code.
All elements of dates (except year) directly related to an individual, including birth date, admission date, discharge date, date of death; and all ages over 89 and elements of dates (including year) indicative of such age, except that such ages and elements may be aggregated into a single category of age 90 or older.
                Telephone numbers.
                Fax numbers.
                Health plan beneficiary numbers.
                Account numbers.
                Certificate/license numbers.
Vehicle identifiers and serial numbers, including license plate numbers.
                Device identifiers and serial numbers.
                Web Universal Resource Locations (URL).
                Internet Protocol (IP) address numbers.
Biometric identifiers, including finger and voice prints.
Full face photographic images and any comparable images.
Any other unique identifying, characteristic, or code.
                Electronic mail addresses.
                Social Security numbers.
                Medical record numbers.

This is why I changed all the names on the conversations...even mine. Because when I do that there is no Identifiers that can link up to the medical reason they are calling me. So it is not PHI... and since it is not PHI I can continue posting my blog.

                    Altimas,

I am sitting in my cubicle in a room full of 40+ thermal, material, and aerospace engineers trying to muffle my laughs. I have a tissue that is full of tears and people wondering WTF. This **** is H-I-L-A-R-I-O-U-S.

I just bury my head in my hands and try to hold it in while simultaniously not snorting or hyperventilating. Your gonnan get me fired and should add a disclaimer to the blog
                    Back to the Blog
By the way, can I get a charge # so I know how to charge my time today?

                    EDIT:
I just read "leroy the hymanator"... I snorted loudly, held my breath for the past three minutes and thought my head was going to explode...I scurried outside with my head down and face shielded with papers as tears went down my cheek trying to look normal unsuccessfully. As soon as the door closes behind I laughed so hard I fell against the wall and knowcked some stuff over. Dude, siht this funny never happens in the defense industry... how does one become an insurance service rep.
... I have a headache now, thanks alot

I have been in a lot of customer service industries by far I have never had as much weird and funny crap happen to me as I do where I work now. I talk with a lot of other customer service reps at lunch and some of the stuff they tell me is just as funny. I donno what it is but people are fearless when it comes to talking to someone about their health insurance. They will say exactly what they are thinking and not hold back one bit.

Thanks for the encouragement Pneumagger it really encourages me to post more often.
