Hey Mike smith says the balls have noticable scratches on them. Someone else mentioned they had been shooting people all weekend while he was catching bounces. Maybe there is a connection. pre-scored paintballs break easier at further distances. sounds good to me.

Whoever did the test comparson to CP and ultralight says 0 breaks in the barrel. good. and he also came to the conclusion that they averaged more hits on the pole or w/e. sounds like good accuracy.

I think you should leave the spin and crap alone. all it is promoting is *****yness and jackassery. So just go clean out your barrels w/ brake clean and play some ball! This may end up being a good barrel after all.

Wow. I'm surprised to see that no one took note the the most power the ball recieves is between 1" and 6" of the barrel.

Well, maybe...
At least not only noise reduction. Lower noise may or may not be a result of better efficiency. The air is at a lower pressure behind the ball when the ball leaves the barrel. In current two piece barrels, lower noise may not be due to efficiency as more air can make it past the ball in the larger diameter part of the barrel.

No. :rolleyes Longer barrels are not more accurate or more precise.

The reason for porting is so that the air will vent, disallowing it to create too much turbulance on the ball.

For the most part, 7" - 20" barrels will get about the same distance due to velocity and the fact that all paintballs weigh relatively the same (Flatline not included).

Tell him to shove that in his Hammer Head and smoke it (I would've said Pipe, but Evil makes that).

I bought a hammerhead kit at paintball expo Ohio earlier this month. I talked to Robert Judson for a few minutes. I felt he believed in what he was saying. I bought a 5 fin kit for my chipley S5 for $150.00. I really like it. I felt it helped improve my accuracy. I have recommended it to friends. In my opinion it is a good barrel kit. I tried it, I liked it. Thats all I have to say.

This may be true, it may be a great barrel kit and I don't doubt for a minute you like it, and the sales staff may very well beleive what they are saying. However, the point is that the hammerhead does not have any design feature that would indicate it could impart consistant axial spin to the ball, the secondary argument is that axial spin has little to no effect anyways.

Time for a field test

Why doesn't someone do an indepth feild test. Put the gun in a shooting vice so it does not move from shot to shot, hook up a scuba tank to the air cylinder so you do not have to keep refilling it over the test period, it also would keep the pressure more constant throughout the test, and test many different barrel types at the same velocity. None of this bs of twenty shots and it shot good crap. If I had a couple of barel kits I woud do it my self, but I don't. I have the chrony, the scuba tanks and a field I can use whenever I want.

All I wanted to say was in response to something I saw on the first page where someone said a bullet can kill you due to inertia, and therefore a paintball coming out with more inertia will travel farther.

I did fail physics last semester so call me a moron if I am wrong, but I thought that two paintballs that were shaped the exact same, weighted the same, and exited a barrel at the same speed, would have the same inertia.

People use a stock spyder barrel and upgrade to an armson and think that rifling is what gives them accuracy when they really havent used a high end barrel before.

Inertia is related to an object's mass... not size, shape, velocity, or otherwise.

Saying that a bullet can kill you due to its inertia is kind of a stupid thing to say...
