No I am not. Does Nevada give hookers a license? No, but your Driver's license is honoered in every state. A marraige is just that, a court document that once you receive it, it has to be honored by every other state in the union.

Article IV of the U S Constitution

Please read it. This is what the gay marraige activists are hanging their hopes on. Once one state legalizes it, that is it. Gays can go their, get legally married and then are legally married anywhere in the US.

BTW...If you get married in Vegas, are you leaglly married no matter where you live in the US? The answer is yes unless you are Brittany Spears!

No. Other states will not have to conduct marriages but would have to honor the marraiges from Mass.

Homophobe is a loaded term. You are implying that we a bigots, etc... Maybe some of us believe in the rule of law. Don't like the law, change it! Don't circumvent our Democracy to force your will on us. Democracy is about majority rule, not minority tyranny.

Right, everyone that disagrees with a homosexual lifestyle is a homophobe.

If you don't like circumventing democracy.

Then why not be against the Patriot Act, it disregards the system of checks and balances in many instances

Yet it is a law. It was crafted and passed through both houses of our legislature. Then signed by the President as per our constitution. All according to the law.

If it goes to far as some suggest, then the Federal Courts can strike all or parts of it down. However that is their job. Writing new law is the job of Congess. This is not too tough a concept to grasp.

                But why did it pass?

Is it because, the bill was 342 pages long, and many senators and congressmen were too lazy to read all of it.

Or that Bush basically said if you go against this bill you are un-patriotic. And we all know that is bad for a politicians career.

                  You're ignoring something very important.

That most people that complain about gay marriages are religious, to one degree or another, and that marriage is really the most important foundation in most religions. ALso that those religions typically consider the gay lifestyle to be a sin.

What the courts are doing is forcing one person's homosexuality into another person's very deeply held spiritual beliefs. Now, I'm not saying whose right and whose wrong, but how can we advocate that forcing of one person's will on another?
Or better yet, why don't you kill yourself. No, really, die. Because that's all you're worth. You're not even wirh thte time it'll take for the house to burn down, so just kill yourself. You're a waste of space. You are nothing, you always will be nothing. LOL!

So your problem is that your elected reps didn't do their job? Then vote them out! That is how a democracy works.

Because the Patriot act A) does not violate democracy in any way, B) was voted on by members of both houses and won with huge margains, and C) is supported by the majority of Americans.

The myth of the patriot act is beginning to annoy me. For the most part all it does is extend police powers that were already in affect for mob prosecutions to terrorist prosecutions.

I'm getting tired of people overreacting to it without cause.

It really isn't forcing this belief on the religions. As long as it is a completely governmental union.

And you also must remember are country is based on seperation of church and state.

It isn't called a governmental union though is it?

They already have that in Vermont and no great uproar there eh?

How long til a gay couple sues a church to allow them to wed there. Slippery slope.

Want to change the law, fine. Do it the right way. Not the shady way!

Which is why I'm ok with civil unions and not marriage

And that's why I don't support the government telling the church that it HAS to marry gay couples.
