I went to San Fransisco the day before gay pride parade (by accident, my first time visiting SanFran after moving to the east bay area). Well I lost all respect for homosexuals in general after that experience. I'm not saying I hate homosexuals in general and I do have friends that are but they don't run around w/ rainbow shirts talking with a lisp and making out in public. I don't like straight couples making out and what not in public, let alone a couple of guys. I know that all homosexuals are not "flamers" but the whole anti-gay sentiment has been kicked up a notch because of this. How can you expect to be treated normal when you don't act normal? Normal as in your average run of the mill person walking down the street, not a guy w/ a lisp wearing a pink shirt and tight leather pants and gay pride stickers all over their car.

wow shartly! i thought nobody would ever birng the best arguement up, which is GAYS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR AIDS. as you know, gay people have had a conspiracy to spread aids to all the counrtys in the world, starting with africa, so that they could take over THE WORLD.

not only that, but gay people are also taking over mainstream media by having popular shows, like ***** eye for the straight guy and ***** as folk. by having shows that everybody watched, they could make kids gay just by watching them, and also spread their unholy thoughts to THE WORLD.

and did you know that gay people are also taking over the fashion industry? thats right, they are making it so straight guys look gay, so that maybe one day they will actually cross the edge between metrosexual, and homosexual, and through gay ads, take over THE WORLD.

gay people are also corrupting the catholic religion (more than it already was). by molesting little boys, they are creating a new breed of gay people to take over every religion of THE WORLD.

gay people are also teaming together with animal "lovers", pedophiles, poligamists(sp?), cannibals, and jews, so that EVERYBODY will have the right to get married. if all of those minority groups team together, they can create a force big enough to take over THE WORLD.

adn then at a big gay banquet when they are all having gay chats watching gay porn, they will, um, take over THE WORLD.

so as you can see, gay people are trying to take over...THE WORLD!

Drinking is my pursuit of happiness, but public intoxication is illegal. So is drinking on state or federal property.

No one has the right to get married. There are laws that allow people to get married. I could care less if you think its fair or not. No one is having their rights violated.

Your argument is flawed. You assume becuase one person is able to do something, everyone should be able to do it. That logic doesn't hold water. Marriage is a legal arrangement, not a personal right. My sincerest hope is that the social norms never change, as homosexual behavior is the same as any other deviant behavior and shouldn't be pandered to just becuase they have a tendancy to be louder than most other sub-cultures.
                  thank you rooster
we know that gays do not have the right to marry
we are discussing whether they should

marriage is a legal arrangement that should be available to citizens regardless of the genders of the two partners. gender is not a determining factor in whether or not a couple can have a stable, loving relationship. approaching the issue with the assumption that certain people are born homosexual, it is completely unreasonable to deny them equal rights to marry.

that is not an argument against gay marriage.

please stick to rational, reasonable reasons why we should discriminate against gays, and not simply spread conservative hate speech. thanks

We just established that no one has the right to marry. It is a legal privilage.

I avoid Mardi Gras like the plague, and I go to my grandma's for spring break because my good for nothing cousins can't go out and help clean up around their poor lonely grandma's house, but don't get me started on that.

i think you're missing my point.
what i was trying to say was that gays are not the only people who are flamboyant about their sexuality as evident in events like spring break and mardi gras.
