AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
hAir trigger and Level X bolt...best upgrades in years! I'll buy one for sure!
It's easier and more economical for someone to buy an upgrade for their existing marker than to sell everything and start over with an electric. Not to mention this would be an all around, any climate, light weight, simple, dependable, tourny legal upgrade to compete with all the "big money" electro markers that discourage people on a budget from playing in tournaments. I have several friends that are losing interest in paintball because they cannot compete with the E-machine guns and don't want or cannot afford to dish out the bucks for an electro. I have already shown the video to at least half a dozen people and all of them are excited and potential buyers. No more batteries, no fried electronics and less expensive guns. I believe this should revolutionize mechanical markers and make the sport more affordable and simple for more people.
Cheers,
Matt
I was thinking of what you said duey, but still, how can you justify paying up to 300$ for drop in upgrade like this. I mean, I think this is an awsome thing for Mags, but I don't know how it is justifiable(sp?) to spend so much on something like that.
On the other hand, I like the idea of being able compete with high-end electro's while still having the reliability of a Mag.

It's justifiable in that paintball is something people do for fun. A person doesn't need to play paintball, it's something that we do for entertainment. If someone feels that this upgrade my make the game more fun for them, even if it's just to impress the person next to them then it is justified to that person. It may not be justified to another in this same sense.

i agree, i dont think it should be more then about 100 or so, plus if we could just get a idea how its done, it would be much cheaper, people should do things for the luv of paintball, not just for profit ( but a little doesnt always hurt)

You need a heavy reality check with that kind of logic. No one will be getting rich off of this project.....

no kidding chowee, it's business, he needs to make a living off this, if you can't afford it, don't get it. He's not here to take up his time innovating things just to sell at cost. I don't have a top of the line timmy, a DM4, and a Viking but I don't whine, I just accept it. I am sure the parts related to this are expensive, esp. if the ram or 3way needs to be custom ordered, and any upcharge is going to be fair profit, not overcharging for hype like WDP does. If you can't get the effort to get the money together (saving majorly), then you don't want it enough. Not flaming you, just explaining that they are not upping the price to be mean, only to get what they deserve for it.
...what, I mean they will get money and success....what???

i agree with QUINCYMASSGUY 100% i think ill pay whatever it costs because i want it that badly and i wouldn't want to trade in my mag for a timmy or an angel anyday plus no batteries what more could i ask for.
Top 10 Reasons to Date a Paintball Player:
1.We aren't afraid to get down and dirty
2.We know how to listen to directions
3.We at least have a ten inch barrel
4.We always wear protection
5.We love to be aggressive
6.We like to push hard, but not hard enough to get hit
7.We clean our barrels a lot
8.If we run out of air, it takes less than 5 seconds to get us going again
9.We're good at moving our fingers extremely fast in small places
10.We can move and contort our bodies into weird positions

I'm not sure that the $300 is a gross underestimation of the price. That area seems to be a reasonable target area nicad is shooting for, since he said he wants to sell it at or below the cost of electro upgrades. I guess it will depend on how much of the system is custom machined. For example, if most of the parts are mass produced and there is little custom work outside of assembly and such, it might be relatively cheap. If every piece is totally custom, then it will be expensive. But look, the X-valve itself is $325, and that's basically the working part of the gun. I don't imagine that it would be much more expensive than that. I certainly don't thinkg it would be $500+.
But maybe nicad could give us some ideas about materials' cost and such, as well as how much he's had to machine.
Secondly, this does not appear to be your typical off the shelf pneumatics here. They seem quite a bit smaller and custom designed for this application. That costs money. Combine those with the fact this looks to be a hand built type of setup, and we're talking more money.
Most seem to say that 300 is the tops they'll spend, if they have a limit. I say it will be more than 300, but how much I cannot say.
It's sad that some people always find a way to complain rather than compliment!
It's an amazing upgrade with an unknown cost. Do you know how much patent fees, machine work, lawyers to keep losers like Smart Parts from poaching cost? There is much more than a few parts as you stated previously. The X-valve cost $325 and everyone loves it. This upgrade would be worth just as much and bring many ballers into the tourny scene for much less. If your so cheap not to pay that much for a tourny grade, non-electric marker then it's your right to do so. But do everyone a favor and stop downing innovation. In the American spirit of capitolism, if you think you could do better for cheaper then by all means let's see it.
well, I just witnessed what might be the first non-wgp gun that I would want to have as a backup. If this is as sweet as it looks it might be the perfect gun and beat my e-cocker for the coveted "primary" position in my arsonal :)
I would love to see this is action and feel it in person.
